Hyderabad, September 19, 2015: Telangana Minister for Industries and Commerce, , Handlooms & Textiles , and Sugar Jupally Krishna Rao participated in the program organised for the distribution of cheques to the farmers affected by Palamuru – Ranga reddy lift irrigation project in Narlapur, and Yelluru villages of Kollapur constituency.

The project has been taken up with an estimated cost of Rs.35,250 crore and seeks to irrigate about 10 lakh acres in Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy and Nalgonda districts besides providing water for drinking and industrial needs in and around Hyderabad. Planning to lift 90 TMC ft water from the foreshore of Srisailam reservoir during the flood days.

In Kollapur constituency a reservoir is being constructed in Narlapur , an extent of 2600 Acres of land will be submerged out of which around 2127 acres is patta land. So far consent is received for 1626 acres of land from the farmers who are very enthusiastic about the project .

The Minister today handed over the cheques worth Rs. 49,50,000 to 3 farmers for 9 acres at a cost of around Rs.5.60 per Acres. The minister expressed ppiness and deep gratitude to all present there and also at the speed in which the entire process was going forward, He informed that the district and state will be greatly benefited due to the project
