Hyderabad, December 14, 2015: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao, would host a Christmas Dinner for 5000 guests on December 20 at Nizam College Ground, Hyderabad on the occasion of Christmas. Syed Omer Jaleel IAS, Secretary to Government, Minorities Welfare Department, after informing the programme said the State Government would celebrate the Christmas Feast on December 19 in 99 Nodal Churches throughout Telangana state.

Speaking the Preparatory meeting on Christmas Celebrations, attended largely by Police officials, held at the Haj House, Nampally, Hyderabad for distribution of the Gift packs, he said that an amount of Rs. 15.37 crores was released for this purpose, out of which Rs. 4.10 crores would be spent on the Feast and Rs. 11.27 crores for distribution of Gift Packs.

He further said that the State Government has launched various welfare and development schemes for the minority communities, including Christians, living in the state. During Ramazan month clothes were distributed among deserving families and now the programme was being implemented for the Christian community on the eve of Christian, so that they can celebrate the festival with joy and pleasure.

Mr. A. K. Khan, IPS, DG ACB and Chairman Minorities Schemes Implementation Committee, who is entrusted the job of supervising distribution of the Gift Packs, said that the distribution work was carrying out in a transparent manner by involving Police officials. He said that the Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekhara Rao has instructed for satisfactory arrangements for organizing the Christian Feast in the State.
