Hyderabad, March 3, 2016: The Telangana Handicrafts will go online tentatively on March 5 with Minister for Industries Jupally Krishna Rao is set to launch it online. Handicrafts which has a couple of show rooms in Hyderabad and Secunderabad and one each in Delhi and Kolkata, it has not been able to register  much sales of late.

The Minister for Handicrafts has encouraged the officials to come up with proposals to enhance the sales and make better profitability to help the artisans increase their average wages ensuring better income levels. He further emphasised the need to go online selling of handicrafts, and entrusted Dr. Sirish Akula, Public Relations officer from his office to coordinate with the Department and authentic online portals and ensure that the work is completed expediously.

Around 180 items would be ready for sale online on the day of the Launch; officials from Amazon will also attend the launch. Shailaja Ramaiyer appreciated the efforts put in by Dr. Sirish in making this a reality within a span of less than 10 days. She expected the sales to increase with the help of Amazon which has the most number of visitors on a day to day basis.
