Google Headquarters Mountain Vie (USA), May 12, 2015: The Global Head for Google Facilities and Workplaces, David Radcliffe and the Telangana Minister for Information Technology, K. T. Rama Rao had a meeting at the Google Headquarters in Mountain View.
An MoU was signed between the Government of Telangana and Google Inc. on the May 11.
As per the MoU, Google is allocated 7.2 acres in Gachibowli, the main IT corridor of Hyderabad and Google will build its own facility. This facility for Google in Hyderabad, the capital city of the state of Telangana when fully built will be one of the largest facility globally with a built up space of about 2 Million sft and one of the largest campus for Google globally outside of the United States.
The envisioned facility in Hyderabad will be Google’s first-ever own campus in INDIA.The facility is expected to house thousands of employees with a built up space of about 2 Million sft.
Google expects the facility to be complete and fully operational in about 4 years and is supposed to start before the summer of 2019. According to Google worldwide head for Facilities and Workplaces, David Radcliffe, about 12 months will be spent on planning and the construction work is supposed to start around summer of 2016.
The construction should take about two and a half years and we could have a facility as soon as early 2019.
Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary of IT, Amarnath Reddy Atmakuri, Chief Relations Officer of the IT Department, Ms. Katherine Wang, Manager for Public Policy Strategy and Diplomacy for Google, and Ms. Allison L. Basker of Google were also present.
