District Collector Promotes Anti-Drug Awareness at SBIT

Introduction to the Anti-Drug Conference

Khammam: At an anti-drug awareness conference held at Swarna Bharathi Institute of Technology (SBIT), District Collector Muzammil Khan emphasized the importance of discipline, meditation, and physical activity for students. He advised students to avoid drugs and support their peers who may be struggling with addiction.

Importance of Discipline and Meditation

During his address, Khan suggested that students should practice discipline, meditation, and physical activity to better cope with life’s challenges. He stressed that maintaining these habits would help them face pressures with resilience.

The Rising Issue of Drug Addiction

Khan pointed out the growing problem of drug addiction among youths, caused by societal pressures. He highlighted how addiction ruins lives and leads to severe disappointment for parents who have high expectations for their children.

Role of Students in Preventing Drug Abuse

The Collector urged students to stay vigilant about the dangers of drugs. He emphasized that if any of their peers were caught in addiction, they should report it to the relevant authorities as part of their social responsibility to safeguard their future.

Focus on Education and Future

College chairman Gundala Krishna echoed similar sentiments, urging students to prioritize their education and plan for their futures. He advised students to avoid bad habits and focus on long-term goals.

Anti-Drug Pledge and Key Attendees

District Welfare Officer Ramgopal Reddy and DCPO Vishnu Vandana administered a pledge to students, committing to a drug-free lifestyle. The event was attended by Trainee Collector Mrunal Thakur, college secretary and correspondent Dr. G. Dhatri, principal Dr. B. Raj Kumar, and others.
