Minister Nara Lokesh Advocates for Three WTCs in Andhra Pradesh during Davos Visit

On the third day of his visit to the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, Andhra Pradesh’s Information Technology Minister, Nara Lokesh, made a significant push for the establishment of three World Trade Centers (WTCs) in his state. Minister Lokesh met with John E. Drew, the chairman of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), where he formally requested the establishment of these trade hubs in Andhra Pradesh.

The World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) is a global network that fosters trade and investment opportunities, aiding in economic growth for local and international businesses. Currently, WTCs are operational in several major cities in India, including Bengaluru. For more information on the WTCA and its role in promoting global trade, visit WTCA’s official website.

Minister Lokesh highlighted the potential of Andhra Pradesh as a prime location for such centers due to its strategic geographical position, growing infrastructure, and rapid industrial development.

In his discussions with Drew, Lokesh emphasized that the proposed WTCs in Andhra Pradesh would serve as key drivers of economic growth, attracting global business investments and fostering international trade relations. The proposed centers would not only benefit the state by enhancing its trade connectivity but also create numerous job opportunities, boost local industries, and strengthen the state’s global economic presence.

Minister Lokesh’s request aligns with the state government’s ongoing efforts to position Andhra Pradesh as a competitive player in the global business landscape. By securing these WTCs, Andhra Pradesh aims to enhance its trade relations and create a sustainable environment for foreign and local investments. His efforts in Davos reflect the state’s commitment to facilitating economic growth and development in line with international standards.
